INDOCHINE GREEN FESTIVAL BACK FOR
ITS TENTH YEAR WITH A SPLASH

Partnering up with Shark Savers this year, IndoChine focuses on protecting our diverse marine ecology

SINGAPORE, 22 November 2012 – As a nature-loving company, IndoChine has never served shark fin or any other overfished species such as Bluefin tuna. As such, this year we have decided to place the focus of our annual festival on the plight of marine life. At the IndoChine Green Festival 2012, IndoChine shows it support for marine conservation by partnering with Shark Savers to create awareness regarding the unsustainable practice of hunting sharks for their fins. With support from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), attendees from various members of the diplomatic community and backing from experts in marine science, we hope that the series of events will help others to take note of this pressing issue.

About IndoChine Green Festival - In the name of being environmentally-friendly, in appreciation of nutraceutical cuisine and a reflection of unique, Asian contemporary style with our restaurants and bars, we present the IndoChine Green Festival in true IndoChine style. The Festival is a series of lifestyle events targeting IndoChine's unique database of business leaders, senior executives and influencers in the business community; and aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage decision-makers in the business communities to actively effect positive changes to business practices.

In the last few years, an esteemed guest list comprising of royalty, celebrities, well-known business personalities and socialites have come together for this prestigious event held in our venues. VIPs such as Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Joe Jackson, father of the former King of Pop Michael Jackson, Dr. Ashok Khosla, founder of Development Alternatives, Francis Yeo, Chairman of YTL and celebrities such as Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh, are amongst some of the high-profile guests who have graced the annual IndoChine Green Festival since 2003.

Getting the party started this IndoChine Green Festival is the Go Green Dance Party at Bar CoCoon at The Forbidden City, Clarke Quay at 10.00pm. This year we present artists from London all the way to Singapore, bringing three unique sounds to the banks of the Singapore River. Don't miss out on the experience and party through the night on the dance floor at this year's IndoChine Green Festival.

OVER A THOUSAND CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING OF SUPERTREE BY INDOCHINE

SINGAPORE, 19 October 2012 – Crowds of over a thousand thronged Gardens by the Bay this week for a three-day Grand Opening extravaganza for IndoChine Group’s latest outlet, SuperTree. From 16 to 18 October, IndoChine opened their doors to important business associates, VIP members, and even 94 members of the diplomatic community as part of the Australian High Commissioner’s farewell party.

The opening of SuperTree at the prestigious Gardens by the Bay marks IndoChine Group’s tenth outlet in Singapore and thirteenth worldwide. The home-grown brand which was established in 1999 also has outlets overseas including a restaurant in Hamburg and a resort in Phuket.

As the tallest and only establishment atop the SuperTree Grove, guests enjoyed a bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s skyline. They mingled in the circular glass-wrapped restaurant and the world’s first rotating alfresco rooftop bar, with a 360-degree, unobstructed view of the entire Gardens by the Bay on one side and the Singapore Central Business District on the other.

"We chose this location because we love nature and the environment," said Mr Michael Ma, Group CEO of IndoChine.

"Even though it has been hard to construct, but we end up with the most unique building in Singapore, where everyone has the best seat in the house."

The evening started with caped stilt walkers mimicking butterflies in the gardens, and they were soon followed by dancing faeries dressed in costumes inspired by flowers and foliage. Acrobats on free-standing poles entertained the crowds with their feats of strength and balance as they seemingly suspended themselves from the poles.

As the sun set over Singapore’s skyline, IndoChine welcomed the Guest of Honour, Australian Shadow Treasurer, the Honourable Joseph Hockey, as he had the privilege of taking part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony together with Mr. Michael Ma to officially open SuperTree by IndoChine to the public.

Guests were greeted by the angelic voice of home-grown singer, Miguel Antonio, as they stepped foot unto the restaurant 58 meters above ground. Miguel at age 11 is reminiscent of a young Michael Jackson, singing songs like Man in the Mirror, and the Beatles’ Let It Be. Brimming with talent, Miguel impressed guests with his stage presence and charming boyish smile.

From evening till late, guests were treated to a sampling of exquisite canapés based on the restaurant’s innovative Indochinese and western menu. Dishes included IndoChine classics such as Vietnamese Fresh Rice Paper Rolls reinvented with king salmon sashimi, and new creations like Tom Yum Lobster Broth with Asian Herbs.

SuperTree by IndoChine, nestled in Gardens by the Bay, is set to be an iconic lifestyle destination for locals and tourists alike. From 19 October onwards, SuperTree will be open to public from 10am to 3am daily.

More information on SuperTree by IndoChine is available at http://www.indochine-group.com./. For reservations and booking enquiries, members of the public may call 6694 8489.

Michael Ma – The Man behind IndoChine
11 August 2011

The next time you hear of someone heading out to IndoChine, it may not be for a drink or a meal but for a totally different purpose – to relax and unwind.

Situated on a prime location overlooking Kalim Bay in Phuket, Thailand is the freshly minted IndoChine Villas & Resorts, opened in 2007.

It is a huge contrast to IndoChine's first appearance in 1999 as a singular bar and restaurant along Singapore's Club Street.

Today, along with numerous awards and accolades under its belt, IndoChine group chief executive and founder Michael Ma has 15 IndoChine venues in Singapore alone.
