In the end, a great meal is not about the food and the wine. A great meal is an emotional experience. We try to make it an extraordinary one by creating a beautiful place, one filled with staff who cares about it as they do about their home, and care for you as the most important guest in it. No detail or element can be less important or more important than another. Because a great meal is not one that fills you up. A great meal is a kind of journey that returns you to places you haven't been before.

Nutriceutical Cuisine

The IndoChine Group takes a proactive approach to health and environmental issues. We take great pride in creating authentic 'nutriceutical' cuisine that emphasizes nutrition and pharmaceutical benefits. Well-balanced meals are high in fibre and filled with essential minerals, provided for by an abundance of fresh vegetables and herbs.

Eco-Friendly

Being an eco-friendly company, the IndoChine Group does not serve dishes such as sharks’ fin, caviar, sturgeon, blue and yellow finned tuna and sailfish – all marine species that are considered endangered by the World Wildlife Fund.

Sharks' fins for example, are harnessed using one of the most brutal ways. Finning, the practice of slicing off a shark's fins and discarding the remainder of the fish - alive or dead - is driven by the lucrative market for sharks’ fin soup and has drawn much condemnation from conservationists and members of the public alike.

The most Unique Spices

In addition to taking an eco-friendly approach, IndoChine also takes the initiative to import the most unique spices from Indo-China. This is to allow our guests to have the best of IndoChine’s cuisine from Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, all prepared without the use of preservatives.

Healthy Ingredients

In addition, IndoChine’s kitchens use a majority of ingredients from the Allium family, such as onions and garlic which are both rich minerals that help cells respond to insulin, vitamin C and numerous flavonoids. These ingredients have blood-sugar lowering effects and anti-inflammatory , anti-bacterial and antioxidant effects.

Lemongrass is another ingredient commonly found in IndoChine's cuisine. It has numerous health benefits, especially when it is used in combination with other spices such as garlic, fresh chillies, and coriander. Lemongrass is also known to be good at relieving cold and flu symptoms, fevers, headaches, abdominal pains and other stomach conditions.

A few other examples of ingredients used in our cooking include:

  • Asparagus
Top natural source of folate. It also supplies beta carotene, vitamin E and vitamin C.
  • Carrots
An excellent source of antioxidant compounds and the richest vegetable source of the pro-vitamin A carotenes. Carrots' antioxidant compounds help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer and also promote good vision, especially night vision.
  • Prawns
It has been said that prawns are bad for our cholesterol levels. But this is not in fact the case - there is a fair amount of cholesterol in prawns but it is broken down by digestion and thus does not cause a rise in bad LDL cholesterol. Prawns and shrimps are actually very low in total fat and calories, and are regularly used in IndoChine’s salads and main dishes.
  • Cod Fish
An excellent low-calorie source of protein, cod fish contains a variety of very important nutrients and has also been shown to be useful in alleviating a number of health ailments. It is beneficial for people with atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease. The selenium, vitamin B12, and vitamin D found in cod have all been shown to reduce the risk of the development of colon cancer by protecting colon cells from the damage caused by toxic substances found in certain foods and cancercausing chemicals.
  • Tea
Tea contains high levels of antioxidants, from polyphenols, flavonoids to catechins. All of the aforementioned take on the “free radicals” in the body and prevent them from harming the healthy cells on board. In other words, sending in antioxidants is disease prevention in its finest form. Tea also contains fluoride which benefits your teeth and has bacteria killing properties which helps control bad breath and the formation of plaque.
